Brighton Fashion Week

Okay so I am slightly slow on blogging about this but I am getting round to everything.  Having suffered mobile phone burnout after calling in products for a magazine shoot I am slowly getting back to my own life..

So I went to the Couture Show at Brighton Fashion Week with the lovely Kathy although I did spring it on her a few hours before departure time.  So we set out on the journey to Brighton for my first time..not Kathys...and made our way around the hills and vales of Brighton Town to get to the Pavillion.

I was debating whether to dress casual or glam but considering the journey I had to make there and back..casual was the way to go..Especially as i had to leg it to find a bus after the show to get to the station for the last train..Drama. Just check out the amazing turrets on the Pavillion building.

Dress - Primark £10
Boots - Random Notting Hill shop
Leggings - Monsoon Fusion - £35
Bag - H&M

So out came the collections which were a myriad of styles, textures, feathers, fake lips (loved it) and prints..some I loved and would wear but as with every couture show, some were just outrageous.  I got a good view though from my front row seat so look out for the official write up in Proper Serious Magazine soon....Here is a sneak..

Also bumped into the lovely Stephanie Starlett and her friend Charmaine.  Stephanie had presented the 'Trashion' by Jez Eaton show the night before which I unfortunately missed.  Seeing as Stephanie is such a popular girl so she got us in ahead of the crowds.

'Create by Jason Wu' Cameras

Okay so I have been slacking on the blogging front.  Someone said I need to get back into it full swing so here goes.
This week I attended the launch for 'Create by Jason Wu' for GE Digital Cameras. the launch took place at the fabulous Blakes Hotel in Chelsea. Jason Wu is a doll designer turned fashion designer most recently famed for designing the dress that Michelle Obama wore to the Presidential Inaugural Ball. The dress was a one of a kind, silk chiffon dress decorated with organza rosettes, Swarovski crystals and silver embroidery.

Jason Wu is also famed for designing the fabulous RuPaul Doll..altogether now..Cover Girl!!

So he has now turned his hand to designing cameras.  Wu has used his original design asthetic of luxury fabrics and detailing and brought it to this gorgeous camera with its cute added extras, making it a must have fashion piece as well as a practical camera for the girl on the go.

The camera has a leather body and comes with a luxurious case, neck strap and wrist strap. The camera also boasts an internal memory capable of storing over 1,000 images, which means photos do not need to be deleted once downloaded; they can stay on the camera and, using the easy menu system, recalled quickly for showing to friends. The 'Create by Jason Wu' camera plugs straight into a laptop or PC with a retractable USB and has its own software so photos are downloaded instantly and automatically with no fuss- whilst the camera recharges all by itself!

It is available from all good camera retailers from this month.

Today I am mostly wearing...

Monsoon Boot-lickin

Accessorize scarf wearing

Primark belt buckling

Evans bracelet jangling

I am loving the fact that I can now wear bangles due to my oversized basketball hands/piano fingers.  I have found a rocking collection at Evans and I am lapping it up.  Especially as they have a range designed by Daisy Lowe..Rock and Roll Royalty.

Styling tip - Add a scarf and a belt to add flashes of colour to an all black outfit.  In my case that is t-shirt and leggings.

Jimmy Choo Pink Candy Bag Crush

I am totally in love with the delectable Jimmy Choo Candy bag in Hot Pink.  This bag brings the summer with it.  Available in a palette of many juicy colours it makes a great addition to any outfit.  Be loud and proud and pluck it from the gorgeous powder pink coloured shelf of the Jimmy Choo store or bag yourself one online at Net-a-porter.

Team with the oh-so chic Crystal embellished black satin sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti with cutout details to pick up a hint of colour from the bag. Zing with a hot choice of nail colour.

Throw on this beautiful Geir Horse printed maxi black silk-georgette maxi dress with a divine horse face print and ride off into the sunset.  This stunning dress by Kimberly Ovitz can be worn belted with a statement chain belt or loose. Divinity in motion.

Topshop Unique Jumpsuit..Yes Please

I am totally crushing on this delish Shark Print Jumpsuit courtesy of Topshop Unique. The jumpsuit is full leg and 100% silk..a snip at £150. I love the print and the cutaway detail adds shape and interest to this exciting piece. As a major Jumpsuit/Catsuit/ Playsuit fan I can’t wait to get my own.

Styling tip.. Keep it simple so as not to detract from the amazing print work. Team with some killer wedge heels to make your legs look like they go on for miles. Throw on a leather biker and you are ready for a night out.

For a casual look put on some Converse trainers and a slouchy cardigan with a loose belt..either way you will look amazing in this!!

Nike Dunk Boots...Just do it!!

I am lusting after these today...they are beautiful pieces of Nike manufacturing as seen on Sneaker Freaker Magazine.  They come in either a pink and white leather and mesh upper or black nylon with a checkered weave.  I fancy the black pair to adorn my feet but you decide.  They even have a zip down the side for a quick excape from all those laces.

Styling tip - Dress these up with a glam outfit and add a little sparkle to avoid looking like an overdressed gym bunny.  Rock these with some bright colours and have fun with it.

All wrapped up in Rick Owens love

Today I am lusting after a Rick Owens Slash-back Cashmere cardigan as seen on the Net-a-Porter website at £945.11.  This luxury cardigan will make the perfect transitional piece to add to any wardrobe.  Ideal for a flight or for a casual day out.

Styling tip - Roll up the sleeves and belt with a gorge statement belt.  Add in leggings and a vest for a great spring look.  Wear skyscraper statement heels to rock this look up or dress down in casual pumps.

Who says Kicks are for Kids...Cool Kids

Just thought I would add some images of my new kicks. I can't wait to get wearing them but the rain is just not gonna let up enough for me to gracethe pavements in white trainers.

In addition to these I am currently rocking Jeremy Scott for Adidas Logo JS Wings. These trainers Rock with a capital R. Lovin the extra large logo and the attention to detail with the signature and metal plate on the front of the laces.

Styling - Rock these with some leggings and bright socks and oversized tees with slouchy cardigans. Layer with some leather and away you go.
Oh Love me!!

Red Red Red Sewing the seeds of Love for Chanel

I think for me the one colour that transcends any season or weather in my wardrobe is RED. I love the colour, I love the word and I love that it exudes love in every heart.

I adore the fact that Karl Lagerfeld chose to bring some ladylike Red Glamour to his SS10 Ready to Wear collection. Although only one full outfit of red in its classic with a twist Chanel full suited glory but hints of the colour were evident in other outfits. A hint of red with shoes or on a stunning blossomed dress were great touches among the haystacked scenery. I especially loved the red drumkit used behind Lily Allens performance as she sang in a stunning feathered and metallic creation with fab Opaque and Sheer tights.
Styling details to focus on were ballet criss-crossed tights, garter illusion tights, draped necklaces with cascading beads and chains that fit nicely behind a classic Chanel jacket, intricate hair accessories, wooden block heels and classic Chanel handbags either across the body or in hand.
Mr Lagerfeld does it again by hitting the right notes with this collection covering many trends from Lace to Houndstooth to Grown up Florals. The collection was tied together nicely with Bardot-esqe beehive hair and natural porcelain doll-like make up.
